While I don’t get to play half as much as I’d like, I love the game of disc golf–for me, it’s the perfect mix of nature and competition. So it was serendipitous that I would be able to work with and create a new visual identity for a top-notch disc golf business, located in Madison, WI.
Originally developed for a series of Glide summer-sponsored events, this logo quickly became a strong favorite to that of the current main business logo. And with the 10th anniversary of the store’s opening fast approaching, the decision was made to freshen up the brand’s identity.
With the challenge of visually communicating the essence of Glide and the game of disc golf in a single logo, I focused on the most fundamental item needed to play the game–the disc, and more precisely, it’s round shape; the circle then naturally became the foundation for everything.
We also chose a clean and hip color scheme that will find its way onto apparel, discs, and the shop’s interior in the coming months, which I’ll show examples of here, as each are produced.
